NB: The princeps of bath bibliography, especially of Roman bathing culture, is Hubertus Manderscheid. His 1988 bibliography on Roman baths remains an invaluable resource and is listed below. Since then, he has supplemented and updated this contribution annually in Balnearia, the bi-annual publication of the International Association for the Study of Ancient Baths (IASAB).

This bibliography is therefore nowhere close to comprehensive and those seeking site-by-site information should look up the appropriate references in Manderscheid.
